EU27 ambassadors approve appointment of Luigi di Maio as EU Special Representative

27/04/2023 (Agence Europe) – On Thursday 27 April, the ambassadors of the EU Member States, meeting in the Political and Security Committee (PSC), approved the appointment of Luigi di Maio to the post of Special Representative for the Gulf region; no discussion took place despite the reluctance of the current Italian government. The appointment of the former Italian Foreign Minister still needs to be agreed by the Permanent Representatives of the EU27 (Coreper) and the European Council....
