Operation EUNAVFORMED Irini monitored nearly 350 vessels in December

09/01/2023 (Agence Europe) – Operation EUNAVFORMED Irini has monitored 8,146 merchant vessels via radio calls since its launch in March 2020, including 348 in December 2022, according to new figures published on 6 January. The operation also visited 420 vessels with the consent of their captains (including 12 in December), boarded and inspected 25 suspect vessels, and hijacked three.
