Forest fires, EU supports Slovenia and continues assistance to France

18/07/2022 (Agence Europe) – Through its Civil Protection Mechanism, the EU is continuing to support countries affected by forest fires (see EUROPE B12994A24). In response to a request for assistance last weekend, a RescEU reserve aircraft, hosted in Croatia, was deployed to help fight a fire in Nova Gorica, near the Italian border, the European Commission announced on Monday 18 July.
