ECDC sees signs of new wave of Covid-19

01/07/2022 (Agence Europe) – The European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC) has seen signs of a new widespread epidemic wave of SARS-CoV-2, fuelled by the BA.4 and BA.5 variants. In its weekly epidemiological bulletin on Covid-19 dated Thursday 30 June, the ECDC reports a recent increase in Covid-19 cases among people aged 65 and over in 21 of the 26 countries who are reporting these data.
