EU puts firefighters on pre-alert in Greece during forest fire season

02/06/2022 (Agence Europe) – More than 200 firefighters plus technical equipment will be deployed to Greece to help the country deal with forest fires throughout the fire season, the European Commission announced on Thursday 2 June. These resources will come from six countries - Bulgaria, Finland, France, Germany, Romania and Norway - participating in the EU’s Civil Protection Mechanism.
