Seven Member States call for no reduction in ambition of European Commission’s proposal for a revised ‘RED II’ Directive

21/04/2022 (Agence Europe) – Seven EU Member States (Austria, Denmark, Germany, Ireland, Luxembourg, the Netherlands and Spain) sent a non-paper to the other delegations calling for no reduction in the ambition of the proposed revision of the Renewable Energy Directive (2018/2001) (RED II - see EUROPE B12762A8). “A lowering of ambition (...) cannot be the right answer to the current geopolitical crisis and to the challenges of the Green Deal”, the document states.
