Euro area inflation confirmed at 5.1% in January

23/02/2022 (Agence Europe) – Annual inflation in the euro area was 5.1% in January, up from 5.0% in December, according to figures released by the Statistical Office of the European Union (Eurostat). In the EU, it was 5.6% in January, compared with 5.3% in December. The lowest annual rates were observed in France (3.3%), Portugal (3.4%) and Sweden (3.9%) while the highest rates were recorded in Lithuania (12.3%), Estonia (11.0%) and the Czech Republic (8.8%).
