Two new EU Force Commanders for Atalanta and EUFOR Althea

11/01/2022 (Agence Europe) – According to draft decisions of the Political and Security Committee on 5 January, the EU military operations Atalanta and EUFOR Althea should soon have new force commanders. Portuguese captain João Paulo Silva Pereira is expected to take up the post in Atalanta from 12 January. He will be promoted to Rear Admiral on appointment and will succeed Spanish Vice Admiral José Maria Núñez Torrente. Major General Anton Wessely of Austria is expected to succeed...
