MEPs reiterate call for legal channels for economic migration

Members of the European Parliament’s Committee on Civil Liberties (LIBE) adopted by 50 votes to 14 with 2 abstentions on Wednesday 27 October an own-initiative report by Sweden’s Abir Al-Sahlani (Renew Europe) on new legal channels for migration, including economic migration to the EU.

This report, very similar to a report on the subject by Sylvie Guillaume (S&D, France), calls on the Commission to propose legislative initiatives on labour migration by 31 January 2022 (see EUROPE...
