Manfred Weber re-elected EPP group Chairman in European Parliament

13/10/2021 (Agence Europe) – On Wednesday 13 October, the EPP group in the European Parliament re-elected German Manfred Weber as its Chairman by 162 votes, with 11 abstentions (0 votes against). This represents 93.7% of the vote (173 votes in total). The German did not wish to stand as a candidate to succeed the Italian David Sassoli as President of the European Parliament, as he is aiming to succeed Donald Tusk as EPP President in 2022.
