European Parliament gives green light to Verena Ross’ appointment as head of ESMA

05/10/2021 (Agence Europe) – Following the favourable opinion of the competent parliamentary committee, the European Parliament approved, on Tuesday 5 October in Strasbourg (555 votes in favour, 56 votes against, 81 abstentions), the appointment of the German Verena Ross as head of the European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA), replacing Steven Maijoor (see EUROPE B12796A8).
