Vaccination against Covid-19 is progressing within the EU, but still at two speeds. On Friday 27 August, the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC) reported that 75.9% of adults aged 18 and over – in other words, 281 million people – have received at least one dose of vaccine within the EU and the European Economic Area (EEA). In some countries, however, the rate is as low as 50%.
