EU continues aid for Port-au-Prince after earthquake

24/08/2021 (Agence Europe) – The European Union continues to take action to help Haiti in the aftermath of the earthquake that struck the country on 14 August, killing more than 1,300 people and injuring nearly 6,000. After releasing EUR 3 million in humanitarian aid on 17 August, the European Commission announced on Thursday 19 August that it had sent twelve European experts and two liaison officers from its Emergency Response Coordination Centre (ERCC) to the scene.
