MEPs call for swift agreement on creation of two Marine Protected Areas in Antarctica

On Thursday 8 July, the European Parliament called for an international agreement to be reached as soon as possible on the creation of two Marine Protected Areas (MPAs) in Antarctica.

By adopting (588 votes in favour, 21 against and 79 abstentions) a resolution on this issue (https://bit.ly/3hu4nlU), the European Parliament underlines the urgent need for the parties, who are negotiating in the framework of the Commission for the Conservation of Antarctic Marine Living Resources (CCAMLR), to...
