On Thursday 17 June, the European Commission adopted a decision on harmonising the use of the 6 GHz band for wireless networks across the European Union. This will increase capacity in order to meet the growing demands of devices, online applications and other services that require more bandwidth and speed.
Specifically, this decision on harmonisation will make 480 MHz of additional spectrum available, on top of the 538.5 MHz that is already available in the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands.
