Member States in favour of a six-month postponement of application of VAT package on e-commerce because of Covid-19

Member States support the Commission’s proposal to postpone for 6 months the entry into force of the legislative package on the modernisation of VAT for cross-border e-commerce due to the Covid-19 pandemic (see EUROPE B12483A7). The new rules would therefore apply from 1 July 2021 instead of 1 January 2021.

This is reflected in two draft compromise texts of the Croatian EU Council Presidency, dated 11 June and copied to EUROPE, which should soon be submitted to the Member...
