Vestager announces initiatives to tackle foreign companies receiving support from their State of origin by the summer

On Monday 2 March, Margrethe Vestager, the Executive Vice-President responsible for competition, stated that, before the end of June, the European Commission will be presenting ideas designed to tackle the problem of state-supported Chinese companies that enjoy an unfair advantage in the internal market over their EU counterparts.

The Commission plans to respond to recent requests from France, Germany, Italy and Poland for action on this matter (see EUROPE B12420A14).
