Greek government wants help from European partners to send Afghan asylum seekers home

17/02/2020 (Agence Europe) – The European Commission confirmed on Monday, 17 February, that it has received a request from the Greek government asking for help from its European partners to repatriate Afghan asylum seekers currently in the Aegean islands, as reported by AFP. According to the Greek government, the vast majority (75%) of asylum seekers living in camps on the five Aegean islands are Afghans, followed by Syrians.
