For EU, only direct negotiations will resolve outstanding final status issues

The High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Josep Borrell, stressed on Tuesday 4 February the need for direct negotiations between Israelis and Palestinians, a few days after the presentation of the US peace plan (see EUROPE B12414A12).
