Justice Commissioner Didier Reynders calls for establishment of an independent judiciary in Malta

16/12/2019 (Agence Europe) – The European Commissioner for Justice, Didier Reynders, called on Monday 16 December, in a letter to the Maltese Minister of Justice, Owen Bonnici, for a rigorous investigation without political interference in the Caruana Galizia case (see EUROPE B12389A6). In this letter, consulted by Reuters, Mr Reynders called on Malta to quickly put in place a reform agenda to ensure the independence of its judicial system.
