In order to implement the European Renewable Energy Directive (‘RED II’) by June 2021, Member States should use more electricity from renewable energy sources for transport, according to a Transport & Environment (T&E) report published on Thursday 3 October.
“The implementation [of RED II]offers an important opportunity to shift national policies away from an exclusive reliance on crop-based biofuels (especially palm oil) to a broader range of cleaner, advanced fuels”, contends T&E.
