On Thursday 29 August, OECD Secretary-General Angel Gurría and French Finance Minister Bruno Le Maire announced the establishment of a technical working group between France, the United States and the OECD to come up with a formal proposal on digital taxation by the end of 2019.
The announcement was made at a press briefing after “a long working meeting” between the two men devoted entirely to the issue of digital taxation.
