The EU and Senegal have reached a compromise on a new protocol to the Sustainable Fisheries Partnership Agreement, the European Commission announced on Wednesday 24 July.
The new 5-year protocol implementing the 2015 agreement will replace the current one, which expires in November 2019.
This new protocol allows EU vessels (28 tuna seiners, 10 pole-and-line vessels, 5 longliners and 2 trawlers) to fish for tuna-like species and hake in Senegal's waters.
