France to tax airline tickets from 2020

10/07/2019 (Agence Europe) – On Tuesday 9 July, the French government announced its intention to introduce an ecotax on airline tickets for flights departing from France from 2020. The tax is expected to generate more than €180 million towards investments in environmentally friendly transport infrastructure, especially rail, said French Transport Minister Élisabeth Borne.
