Euro area annual inflation rate up to 1.7% in April

03/05/2019 (Agence Europe) – According to a flash estimate by the Statistical Office of the European Union (Eurostat) on Friday 3 May, the Euro area annual inflation rate reached 1.7% in April. This is an increase of 0.3 percentage points compared to the rate seen in March (see EUROPE B12238A31). In terms of inflation components, energy prices increased the most between April 2018 and 2019 (+5.4%), followed by services (+1.9%), food, alcohol & tobacco (+1.5%) and non-energy industrial...
