EU, African Union and United Nations call for rescue of migrants and refugees stranded in country

Representatives of the EU, the African Union (AU) and the United Nations called on 16 April in Addis Ababa to save refugees and migrants stranded in Libya as the humanitarian situation on the ground continues to deteriorate (see EUROPE B12237A6). 

According to them, more than 7,000 migrants and refugees are in detention centres.
