08/10/2018 (Agence Europe) – The European agency for the cooperation of energy regulators (ACER), published a report on 3 October which states the EU is becoming increasingly dependent on gas imports. Demand for gas in the EU rose by 5% in 2017, while internal production decreased. The EU imported 76% of the gas needed, mostly from Russia, Norway and Algeria. ACER states security of gas supply is high in the EU and wholesale markets continue to converge. (LC)
