Advocate General holds that a European citizen will reintegrate more easily by serving his sentence in the EU than being extradited to a third country

In his Opinion delivered on Wednesday July 25 in Case C-247/17, Advocate General Yves Bot held that the authorities of a member state must examine whether, in light of the connecting factors to the same state of a person sentenced in a third country, the enforcement of the sentence in the European Union is likely to promote the social reintegration of this person.
