Ahead of European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker's visit to Washington on 25 July, US President Donald Trump defended his trade strategy on Tuesday 24 July, brandishing customs tariffs as a weapon to force the USA's main trade partners to negotiate a rebalancing of trade which he currently considers to the USA's detriment.
