Commissioner Vella is invited to make site visit to verify adverse impact of electric pulse fishing

11/07/2018 (Agence Europe) – At the initiative of Yannick Jadot (Greens/EFA, France), several French MEPs wrote, on Tuesday 10 July, to European Fisheries Commissioner Karmenu Vella on the subject of electric pulse fishing (see EUROPE 12049).  They invite him to meet gillnetters in northern France and to go out to sea with them in order to make an on-site assessment of the “adverse” impact that electric trawling is having on the seabed.  (LC)
