Court confirms that Jehovah's Witnesses must respect personal data protection rules

In a ruling on Tuesday 10 July in Case C-25/17, the European Court of Justice held that in the context of door-to-door preaching, the community of Jehovah’s Witnesses must respect the rules of EU law on the protection of personal data. 

When they engage in to door preaching, the Jehovah's Witnesses in Finland collect information (names, addresses, religious conviction, family relationships) about the people they meet. This information is collected in order to identify useful information...
