MEPs pay tribute to Nicole Fontaine

29/05/2018 (Agence Europe) – On Monday 28 May, MEPs observed a minute's silence in honour of French national Nicole Fontaine who was president of the European Parliament from 1999 to 2002.  A member of the Christian Democrat family, Fontaine died on 17 May at the age of 76.  She was elected to the Parliament for the first time in 1984 and took part in the life of the assembly for 23 years.  (MB)
