EU prolongs sanctions by a year linked to embezzlement of Ukrainian state funds

05/03/2018 (Agence Europe) – As announced by EUROPE (see EUROPE 11971), on Monday 5 March the Council of the EU prolonged the assets freeze until 6 March 2019 for 13 people, including Ukraine's former president Viktor Yunukovych.  The people concerned are accused of embezzling Ukrainian state funds and of having transferred them illegally out of Ukraine.  The restrictive measures against two people have not been prolonged.  According to a European source, these two people are the former...
