European Parliament bolsters eligibility criteria for European industrial development programme

MEPs toughened up the criteria for the eligibility of businesses to the European defence industrial development programme (EDIDP) during the adoption (49 for, 12 against, no abstentions) of the draft report by Françoise Grossetête (EPP, France) at the committee on industry, research and energy (ITRE), on Wednesday 21 February (see EUROPE 11948).  The aim is to reduce the risk of funding certain entities which would be under direct or indirect control of third countries.
