EESC calls for austerity policies to be limited in event of future asymmetric shock

In an own-initiative opinion adopted at its plenary session on Wednesday 14 February, the European Economic and Social Committee (EESC) calls for measures to be implemented to promote economic cooperation, growth and solidarity, rather than “restrictive austerity”, in the event of a future economic crisis.
