29/01/2018 (Agence Europe) – On Monday 29 January, the Council of the EU announced the appointment of eight new members of the European Court of Auditors. The members appointed on 1 March 2018 to 29 February 2024 are: Ms Bettina Michelle Jakobsen (Denmark), Mr Baudilio Tomé Muguruza (Spain), Mr Pietro Russo (Italy), Mr João Figueiredo (Portugal), Mr Hannu Takkula (Finland), Mr Tony Murphy (Ireland) and Ms Eva Lindström (Sweden). The member appointed for 1 January 2019 to 31 December 2024 is Ms Iliana Ivanova (Bulgaria). The European Court of Auditors will meet up in its new composition to decide in what departments the new members will officiate and who will soon be sworn in at the European Court of Justice. (MB)
