Moment of truth for EU's improved agricultural offer before sealing trade agreement

The Mercosur countries (Argentina, Brazil, Paraguay and Uruguay) are waiting for the EU to table its improved offer on agriculture (including further concessions on beef and ethanol), with a technical and ministerial level negotiation meeting about to take place in Brussels on 30 and 31 January which could be decisive for the conclusion of a free trade agreement that has been under negotiation since 1999.
