Repression on rise in 2017 whilst ratification of EU/Vietnam trade deal takes shape

On Friday 5 January, the International Federation for Human Rights (FIDH) and the Vietnamese Committee on Human Rights (VCHR) spoke out against unprecedented repression of dissent in Vietnam in 2017, calling upon the EU and the United States to open their eyes and make their voices heard to call for all political prisoners to be freed and for the swift implementation of vital institutional and legislative reforms in Vietnam.
