European Parliament launches strong appeal to support and protect whistle-blowers at a European level

On Tuesday 24 October, MEPs adopted by a relative majority (399 votes for, 101 votes against, 166 abstentions) the own initiative report by Virginie Rozière (S&D, France) to protect whistle-blowers at a European level.

The amendments from the EPP Group that sought to significantly amend the report approved in the legal affairs committee (JURI) (see EUROPE 11886) were ultimately rejected.  The text therefore remains fundamentally the same as the one approved in the committee(see EUROPE...
