19/10/2017 (Agence Europe) – MEP Agnieszka Kozłowska-Rajewicz (EPP, Poland) will be rapporteur on the directive on balancing public and private life, it was confirmed on Wednesday 19 October. The decision was taken at the last meeting of coordinators. The European Parliament’s women’s rights and gender equality (FEMM) will work with the employment and social affairs committee (EMPL), which will deal with the contents of the directive under Article 54 of the European Parliament’s terms and regulations. It seems that an own-initiative report is being prepared by FEMM. Kozłowska-Rajewicz’s name has been circulating for weeks (see EUROPE 11866). The process of appointing the rapporteur took a long time due to competition between two committees. (PH)
