Abolition of sugar quotas an important turning point, says Hogan

The European system of production quotas for sugar ended on 30 September. After milk quotas were abolished in 2015, sugar was the last sector with a production management system. The Commission has given assurances that everything possible has been done to ensure a soft landing.
