European Parliament rapporteur Norbert Erdős (EPP, Hungary) is calling for a 47.8% increase in the EU budget for national beekeeping programmes compared with the 2004 level, taking it to €47 million annually.
The Parliament's agriculture committee will discuss the draft Erdős report on prospects for the EU apiculture sector on Wednesday 30 August.
