01/08/2017 (Agence Europe) – On Tuesday 1 August, the statistical office of the European Union (Eurostat) published a preliminary flash estimate in which it announced that both the European Union and the Eurozone had seen growth of 0.6% in the second quarter of 2017. In the first quarter of the year, GDP grew by 0.5% in both areas compared to the previous quarter. Growth is reported to stand at 2.1% in the Eurozone and 2.2% in the EU compared to the second quarter of 2016. (LT)
