29/04/2017 (Agence Europe) – On Saturday 29 April, Slovenia and Croatia agreed to notify the European Commission whenever they carry out "targeted checks" (and thus not systematic checks) at their common border when the waiting time at specified land border crossing points between the two countries is longer than 15 minutes, in accordance with the Schengen Borders Code (see EUROPE 11764). "We agree that EU law reinforcing the controls at the Schengen borders and the security of our Union must be applied and implemented. In this context, we welcome the fact that Croatia will have full access to the Schengen Information System by 27 June 2017", European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker stated at the end of a meeting with the prime ministers of Slovenia and Croatia, Miro Cerar and Andrej Plenković, that took place on the sidelines of the European summit on Brexit.
