European Parliament draft report supports extending customs union to agricultural trade

Written by David Borrelli (EFDD, Italy), the European Parliament's draft report on the new trade framework and modernisation of the EU-Turkey customs union, which will be put to a vote of the Parliament's international trade committee on 21 March, supports the inclusion of "key sectors" in the customs union, such as agriculture, services and public procurement.

The liberalisation of these sectors should be carried out "progressively" and in a"non-binding" way, and its impact on companies...
