EU will invest €300 million in renewable energy projects to generate €4.8 billion in investment

The European Commission is preparing 19 new renewable energy projects in Africa, with a total potential investment of €300 billion, which could generate even more investment in the future.

The Commissioner for International Cooperation and Development, Neven Mimica, made this announcement during the second Board of Directors meeting of the Africa Renewable Energy Initiative on 4 March 2017 in Conakry, Guinea.
