The withdrawal of the United Kingdom from the EU will provide an opportunity to tackle the 'revenue' plank of the EU budget, according to the draft report of the European Parliament on the budgetary orientations for 2018.
In Brussels on Thursday 9 February, Parliament's committee on budgets is to discuss the draft report by Siegfried Mureşan (EPP, Romania) on preparations for the negotiations on the 2018 budget. This report will be adopted in March by a plenary session in Parliament.
