Commission leaves it up to industry to take action on welfare of birds bred for foie gras

On Friday 3 February, Vytenis Andriukaitis, the European Commissioner for Health stated that the European Commission “does not currently envisage any measures specifically targeting the well-being of birds reared for the production of foie gras”.
