The European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) published an opinion on Sunday 15 January supporting renewal of the marketing authorisation, for food and feed, of the highly controversial genetically modified (GM) maize 1507 by US company Pioneer Dupont which is resistant to some lepidoptera larvae and is herbicide-tolerant.
