Reinforced checks on grants to four European political parties

On Monday 12 December, the bureau of the European Parliament decided to lay down tougher conditions for grants to four European political parties and two foundations in 2017.

The Alliance for Direct Democracy in Europe (ADDE), the Alliance for Peace and Freedom (APF), the Coalition pour la vie (CPV) and Europeans United for Democracy (EUD) will be required to provide a bank guarantee before receiving an advance of 33% on the Parliament grant for 2017.
